- Info from presenters: We are reaching out on behalf of Seattle City Light to share about their Public Direct Current (DC) Fast Charging (http://www.seattle.gov/light/electric-Vehicles/) Electric Vehicle pilot program. The program is currently in implementation and will install 20 electric vehicle fast chargers throughout the utility’s service territory in 2018 and 2019 as a contribution to the goals of the Mayor’s Climate Action Plan (https://www.seattle.gov/Documents/Departments/Environment/ClimateChange/2013_CAP_20130612.pdf) and in support of the Drive Clean Seattle Initiative. https://www.seattle.gov/Documents/Departments/Environment/ClimateChange/Drive_Clean_Seattle_2017_Report.pdf
- We’ve identified the Gas Works Park area as a promising potential location for siting one or two electric vehicle fast chargers, and would like to share more about the program at the next Fremont Neighborhood Council meeting to provide some information about the goals of the program, answer questions and gather initial feedback, and hear about what other community members we should be connecting with.
7:40 Discussion of FNC response to homelessness--We have had two “Civil conversations” about the homelessness problem this year. Now it is time for the board and community members to have a conversation about potential solutions. FNC cannot “solve” homelessness, but we can help alleviate adverse impacts. Please come prepared to consider:
- What actions can FNC take to reduced conflicts between houses and un-housed residents of Fremont?
- What policy position(s) should FNC take to encourage City politicians, agencies, departments, etc.? And to encourage them to do what? And also with respect to non-City entities that play a role, such as Fremont Baptist Church, the Doric Lodge, and the numerous low income social service and housing entities in Seattle.
