How to navigate during "Maximum Constraint"

Seattle staff is working to try to minimize problems of navigating the Seattle Squeeze during the period of "Maximum Constraint" when the Viaduct comes down and the tunnel is finally opened. Some of us from FNC attended an information session and received this follow-up, which we're passing on to you:

"Thank you for attending one of the five information sessions about the Viaduct Closure and the Seattle Squeeze. ...

"Washington State Department of Transportation and Seattle Department of Transportation fact sheets were handed out at the info session. ...

"Here are answers to some of the questions we heard at the information sessions that required more research:

  • How late will the KingCounty Water Taxi be operating? A: The additional watertaxi runs will be between 6am-7pm, weekdays.  
  • Will there be weekend runsfor the Water Taxi? A: No additional weekend service, except onFeb 2 supporting SR99 Tunnel opening events.
  • What will the first stop beafter the West Seattle Bridge for the C-Line? Is there a way there couldbe a stop by the SODO light rail stop (Lander St.) for a light railconnection? A: The first C Line stop will be at 3rd andColumbia. There will be no stops through the SODO area.
  • What areas are included in the construction permit revocation fromJanuary 4 – February 15, 2019? The PermitRestrictions During SR 99 Closure map shows where right-of-wayclosures for construction work and curbspace vending in the right of waywill not be permitted from January 4 – February 15, 2019. On dark greenstreets, no closures are allowed. On light green streets, limited closuresare allowed.   • Will there bediscounts on the SR 99 Tunnel toll for seniors and people who arelow-income? We will loop back with the groupwhen we hear from Washington State Department of Transportation on this.
