Help for Small Business and Know Your Rights

Come hear our final speakers of 2026! This is our last regular meeting of the year. We will host Potluck in November and there is no meeting in December.

In January Fremont neighbors spoke about what was important to us in our community. High on that list was help for small local businesses, especially regarding break-ins and vandalism. Business closures were also a concern. Eduardo Rojas from the Seattle Office for Economic Development will talk about programs they offer to help small business.

Also high on the January list were civil liberties/rights issues such as dealing with ICE. Brent Low, a lawyer from ACLU will be here to talk with the community.

Agenda (meeting officially starts at 7pm)

  • 6:15-6:45 | Business meeting. This meeting is for the FNC Board to discuss business items, plan and set up. Everyone is welcome to join, especially if you’re curious about joining the board! Possible topics: Reconnecting Fremont endorsement, discussion and possible vote on Fiscal Sponsorship fee.

  • 7:00-7:10 | Opening, land acknowledgement, and who is FNC

  • 7:10-7:15 | Meet your Neighbor Icebreaker

  • 7:20-7:50 | Eduardo Rojas, Seattle OED

  • 7:50-8:20 | Brent Low, ACLU

  • 8:20-8:30 | Community Announcements

  • 8:30-8:45 | Clean-up and community mingle

October 10th was a Fremont Best Day Ever

Hunt the Universe, BF Day Emergency Hub, and Best Day Ever were all happening at once and intermingling throughout the neighborhood! Aly Teeter’s article on Best Day Ever is here on Fremont Neighbor. The next BF Day Emergency Hub event is at Fremont Brewing on November 12th. Hunt the Universe is having their Awards Gala for participants this Wednesday. This very special variation of a scavenger hunt was such a fabulous, funky Fremont event that we hope it can happen again!
